The Big 5 Construct Qatar Expo 2019 opens to huge response

The second edition of The Big 5 Construct Qatar currently underway at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre (DECC) was inaugurated on Monday by HE the Minister of Commerce and Industry Ali bin Ahmed al-Kuwari. dmg events are the organisers of the mega expo.

The Big 5 expo offers products covering the entire building cycle across seven dedicated sectors, including MEP services, building interiors, and finishes, building envelope and special construction, construction tools and building materials, construction technologies and innovations, concrete, and plant machinery and vehicles.

The expo provides a dedicated platform where global and local construction players can interact personally and learn the nuances of doing business in the country.

The Big 5 Construct Qatar which hosts 150 exhibitors from 20 countries also conducts over 40 free and certified education sessions during the event.

Speaking to the press, Andrew Gardner-Mitchell, the chair of the CIOB Hub Committees for Qatar and the Mena Region said: “Construction professionals joining the industry in Qatar can expect to have a voice and influence over the country’s exciting journey to construction excellence.”

The Indian ambassador HE P Kumaran attended the exhibition along with Sanjay Mishra, Executive Officer, Trade Fairs – Confederation of Indian Industry and other senior embassy officials.

The ambassador along with his team also met and interacted with all the Indian exhibitors and assured them of complete co-operation and support from the embassy.

Doha International Book Fair starts today with 427 publishing houses from 30 countries

The 29th Edition of Doha International Book Fair at DECC (Doha Exhibition and Convention Center) starts today, from 29th of November to 8th December 2018. 400+ publishing houses from 30 countries are participating in the 29th edition of Doha International Book Fair.

The 29th Edition of Doha International Book Fair (DIBF) will be held under the patronage of the Emir of Qatar, H. H. Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. The theme for this year’s edition is “Doha, A City of Knowledge and Conscience”.

  • 9 am to 9 pm on all days except Thursday’s and Friday’s
  • Thursday: 9 am to 10 pm
  • Friday: 4 pm to 10 pm

Director of the Doha International Book Fair, Jassem Al Buainain, said that 30 countries are participating in the 29th edition of the book fair, and the focus is on specialised publishing houses in children’s books and young people that “achieve our vision to create a conscious generation”.
