Ministry of External Affairs, India has published updated (as on 13 Sep 2020) list of repatriation flights schedule for the month of September under the Vande Bharat Mission (VBM).

Ministry of External Affairs, India has published the list of repatriation flights schedule for the month of September  under the Vande Bharat Mission (VBM). This is an updated list as on 29th Aug 2020 and it is noted that this is a dynamic list and is bound to undergo changes.

Qatar Airways has opened bookings on flights to 13 destinations in India from August 18 to August 31 2020

India has recently announced an “Air Bubble” with Qatar to facilitate travel between the two countries. As a part of the “Air Bubble”, Qatar Airways has opened bookings on flights to 13 destinations in India from August 18 to August 31, 2020.

Qatar Airways will operate flights to and from the following destinations in India, According to Qatar Airways.

  1. Ahmedabad
  2. Amritsar
  3. Bengaluru
  4. Chennai
  5. Delhi
  6. Goa
  7. Hyderabad
  8. Kochi
  9. Kolkata
  10. Kozhikode
  11. Mumbai
  12. Nagpur (Yet to start booking)
  13. Thiruvananthapuram

Please check Qatar Airways website for latest updates / booking.

On our flights. we will only be able to accommodate the passengers who qualify for one of the mentioned categories“, Qatar Airways stated on its website. Also it further stated that, “respective government’s entry regulations will apply to all passengers and urged everyone to check their website for information about COVID-19 RT-PCR medical test“.

This arrangement of Air Bubble between India and Qatar is valid from 18th August to 31 August 2020.

A. From India to Qatar 

  1. Qatari Nationals
  2. Any Indian national holding any type of valid Qatar visa and destined for Qatar only. It would be for the concerned airlines to ensure that there is no travel restriction for Indian nationals to enter Qatar with the particular visa category before the issue of ticket/ boarding pass to the Indian passenger.

B. From Qatar to India

  1. Indian nationals stranded in Qatar.
  2. All Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) cardholders holding Qatari passports, and
  3. Qatari nationals (including diplomats) holding a valid visa issued by an Indian mission in any category covered under Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) guidelines dated 30 June 2020.

Before making any reservations in the flights being operated under the above arrangements, the passenger must confirm that they would be allowed entry into the destination country.

Revised list of repatriation flights to India from Doha | June 2020 Schedule (updated on 14 June)

Embassy of India Doha tweeted updated list of repatriation flights for the complete month of June 2020. Revised list includes few more Indian cities which were not part of the previous schedule. Flights from Doha to Trivandrum, Kannur, Kozhikode, Trichy, Delhi, Kochi, Lucknow, Mumbai, Bhubhaneswar via Delhi, Amristar / Srinagar, Kolkata / Bhuvaneswar, Ahmedabad, Madurai and Coimbatore are scheduled until 30th June 2020.

Under the Vande Bharat Mission, Indians in Qatar are being repatriated back to India. Phase-2 of repatriation is in progress and as on today 9th of June 2020, 21 flights from Doha has left to India carrying 3506 passengers from Qatar, plus  98 infants.

List of repatriation flights to India from Doha for the ongoing Phase-2: 09-June to 19-June 2020

Embassy of India Doha in a recent tweet shared a list of flights scheduled to leave Doha to various Indian cities for the ongoing phase-2 from 9th June to 19th June 2020. Flights from Doha to Mumbai, Delhi, Trichy, Lucknow, Madurai, Kannur, Kochi, Trivandrum and Kozhikode are scheduled between 09th June to 17th June 2020.

Under the Vande Bharat Mission, Indians in Qatar are being repatriated back to India. Phase-2 of repatriation is in progress and as on today 4th of June 2020, 19 flights from Doha has left to India carrying 3155 passengers from Qatar, plus  87 infants.

The third phase of Vande Bharat Mission is set to commence by mid of June and will be carried out until 30th of June 2020. So far under the Vande Bharat Mission (VBM) repatriation process which started on 7th of May 2020, 213 flights has brought back around 50000 stranded Indians.

Air India to launch non-stop Delhi-Doha flights from Oct 29

India’s national flag carrier Air India is set to launch non-stop flights between Delhi and Doha from October 29, according to the airline’s website.

The flights will be operated four times a week – Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

On Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, flight AI 971 will depart Delhi at 7.50 pm and arrive in Doha at 9.35 pm. On Friday, it will leave Delhi at 8.50 pm and reach Doha at 10.35 pm.

For Doha-Delhi, AI 972 will depart Doha at 10.35 pm on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. It will arrive in Delhi at 5 am (next day). On Friday, it will leave Doha at 11.35 pm and reach Delhi at 5.50 am (next day).

Air India to launch direct flights from Delhi to Doha next month (Oct 2019)

Air India (AI) the country national flag carrier will launch direct flights between Delhi and Doha from October 29, according to information available on the Air India website. AI is headquartered at Delhi, India.

An Airbus A321 will take off with a total of four flights every week on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. On Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, AI 971 will depart Delhi at 2:20 pm and arrive in Doha at 6:35 pm.

On Friday, it will depart from Delhi at 3:20 pm and touchdown Doha at 7:35 pm.

Departing time from Doha by AI 972 is at 7:35 pm on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays which arrive in Delhi at 11:30 pm. On Friday, the flight departs at 8:35 pm from Doha and reaches Delhi next day at 12:20 am.

Tickets start from QAR 695 (one way) from Doha to Delhi for economy class. Booking is open now from October 29, 2019, to March 28, 2020.

Although, this will be the only flight to Doha by AI the other Indian airlines -Air India Express, Air India’s subsidiary fly to many destinations in India from Doha.

IndiGo to launch additional flights from Doha to Delhi and Hyderabad

Indian carrier IndiGo will launch additional flights between Doha and two Indian cities from next month, it is learnt.

The airline will operate a second direct flight each to Delhi and Hyderabad, according to information available on its website and local newspaper reports.

The second direct Hyderabad-Doha service will commence on September 16. Flight 6E 1727 will depart Hyderabad at 11.40pm and arrive in Doha at 1.25am the next day.

The Doha-Hyderabad flight (6E 1731), starting September 17, will depart Doha’s Hamad International Airport (HIA) at 2.25am and reach Hyderabad at 9.05am.

The second direct Delhi-Doha service will also begin on September 16. Flight 6E 1775 will depart Delhi at 8.20pm and reach Doha at 10 pm. The Doha-Delhi flight (6E 1776), also from September 16, will depart HIA at 11 pm and arrive in Delhi at 5.15am the next day.

It is also the largest individual Asian low-cost carrier in terms of jet fleet size and passengers carried with a 48.1% domestic market share as of June 2019. Current IndiGo Doha-Hyderabad-Doha and Doha-Kochi-Doha Flights:

  • Doha to Hyderabad: Leaves from Doha at 22:00 (10 pm Qatar time) and land in Hyderabad at 05:00 (5 am IST) next day
  • Hyderabad to Doha: Leaves from Hyderabad at 07:15 (07.15 am IST) and land in Doha at 09:30 (09:30 am Qatar time)
  • Doha to Kochi: Leaves from Doha at 10:30 (10.30 am Qatar time) and land in Kochi at 17:40 (05:40 pm IST)
  • Kochi to Doha: Leaves from Kochi at 18:50 (6.50 pm IST) and land in Doha at 21:00 (9 pm IST) next day

Jet Airways to discontinue direct flights to three destinations in Kerala and increase frequency to two Indian cities from Doha

Jet Airways will discontinue non-stop service (direct flights) from Doha to Kozhikode, Thiruvananthapuram, and Kochi. At the same time, increase the direct flight frequency to Mumbai and Delhi starting from 5th of December.

As a move to strengthen the hub connectivity model, Jet Airways made this announcement making Mumbai and Delhi as hubs.

According to an official at the Jet Airways office in Doha, the service to Kozhikode, Thiruvananthapuram, and Kochi will be discontinued after December 3, Reported thepeninsulaqatar.com

This will make flights from Doha to Kozhikode, Thiruvananthapuram and Kochi as a one-stop flight through Mumbai and Delhi.

The additional flights will be for,

  • Doha-Mumbai at 2255 hours and Mumbai-Doha at 2030 hours
  • Doha-Delhi at 0250 hours and Delhi-Doha at 2355 hours
