MoI Qatar announces working hours during Eid Al Adha holidays

Eid Al Adha holidays for Ministries, public bodies, government agencies, and institutions will begin on Sunday 18 July 2021 and end on Sunday 25 July 2021.

The Ministry of Interior (MOI) on its Twitter handle has announced the working hours of MOI service and security departments during the Eid Al-Adha holidays, as follows:

  • Service-oriented departments (Passports, Traffic, Nationality and Travel Documents, CEID) will work from 8 am to 12 noon.
  • Security Departments and Traffic Investigation Sections will be working round the clock.

Mowasalat to provide services 24/7

Mowasalat Co (Karwa) is gearing up to provide its services 24/7 for Eid Al Adha.

On this occasion Nasser bin Mohammed Al Malki, Chairman of Mowasalat, extended heartiest greetings to Emir
H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and Father Emir H H Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani and Deputy Emir H H Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Thani on the occasion of Eid Al Adha.

“We hope for more returns of this memorable occasion and wish that Qatar always enjoys security, welfare and prosperity under the wise leadership of the Emir,” said Al Malki.

He further said: “It is our endeavour to work closely with our stakeholders and Ministry of Transport and Communications in delivering as per the plans and contribute to achieving our Ministry’s vision to provide modern sustainable transport network and serve the community”.

“It is worth mentioning that as part of the transport network development plan in the State, and during the second half of August 2017, several modifications and changes to routes and new routes have taken place under the guidance of Ministry of Transport & Communications aligning with National Transport Master Plan. Such information has been published publicly in various forms of communication channels and available in our website,” said Khalid Al Hail, Managing Director, and CEO of Mowasalat.

Khalid also added that a new public buses lay-by was added, which serves four of the main public bus routes (57, 74, 75 and 777) in one of the most important sites in the State, the heart of the West Bay. The new lay-by serves a group of the most important ministries and government headquarters in Doha, in addition to City Center Mall, various four and five star hotels and the Diplomatic Zone.

Mowasalat is Qatar’s major provider for taxis and public transport buses, with a taxi fleet of more than 4,000 cars.

Mowasalat-Karwa also operates four franchises and about 80 limousines serving the visitors and guests arriving in Qatar. In addition, it operates a fleet of about 3,800 buses, which includes 270 buses dedicated to serving the public on 52 routes, 2,800 school buses ferrying on an average 65,000 students in a day and 700 to serve the State for all major events.
