Winter vegetable markets now open | Offers fresh vegetables from local farms

The Ministry of Municipality and Environment said in a Tweeter post that 125 local farms will participate for the season 2019-20. The winter vegetable markets opened on Thursday (Nov 14) for the season 2019-20.

In line with Qatar’s policy to become more self-reliant, the need for producing local farm products has risen in recent years with the nation primarily focusing on local production to ensure food safety.

The winter vegetable markets offer fresh vegetables to the citizens and residents at very attractive prices as they are brought straight from the local farms.

The biggest advantage the winter markets have to offer is a legal location to sell their products directly to the end-user without the interference of a middleman. This not only brings down the cost of the produce but due to the reduced time factor keeps the veggies fresh and crispy green.

The markets are located in Al Sheehaniya, AlMazrooa, Al Wakrah, Al Khor-Al Zakhira, and Al Shamal. have been a huge success.
