World’s tallest Statue – PM Narendra Modi inaugurates Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s ‘Statue of Unity’
Today (31st Oct 2018)PM Narendra Modi inaugurates Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s Statue or ‘Statue of Unity’ on his birth anniversary. ‘Statue of Unity’ is located near the Narmada Dam in Gujarat.
- ‘Statue of Unity’ is the world’s tallest statue (182 meters)
- The Statue of Unity beats China’s ‘Spring Temple Buddha’(128 meters) as the world’s tallest statue and is twice the height of the Statue of Liberty (93 meters) in the US.
- This project was completed in a record time of 33 months
- If you are about 5.6 feet tall, the giant State of Unity is 100 times larger than you
The map of India is what it is today is because of this “Iron Man of India” Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Credit goes Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s for his vision and effort behind India’s Cooperative sector. Amul (Anand Milk Producers Union Limited) is a good example of his vision towards empowering local communities.
If Sardar Patel had not taken the vow to unite India, we would have needed a visa to see the lions of Gir and Charminar in Hyderabad, PM Modi says. Sardar Patel wanted to transform India into an empowered, sensitive, and aware country, and it is our job to realise his dream. The Statue of Unity is an example of the engineering and technical prowess of India, PM Modi quoted in his inauguration speech.
